No, I don't think so. There are universal human laws, and one example is the set of laws we call "the Ten Commandments". Thou shalt not steal (Exodus 20:15 KJV) is one of them.
The Holocaust occurred, in part, because one group of people claimed they had the right to kill another group "according to their own laws". For this "art student" and her adviser to not recognize this seems to be an astounding lapse of judgment.
