Here is a great expose of how the global war on terror apparently enriched George Tenet (CIA) and Louis Freeh (FBI):

Bush and Cheney never could have gotten away with it without their help.
Of course, there is nothing illegal in what Tenet and Freeh did, is there?
I have just finished reading two books:
Disconnecting the Dots: How 9/11 Was Allowed to Happen by Kevin Fenton
The American Deep State: Wall Street, Big Oil, and the Attack on U.S. Democracy by Peter Dale Scott
Fenton builds a strong circumstantial case that CIA withheld information from FBI to facilitate the 9/11 attacks (i.e., to prevent FBI from disrupting the plot). Scott quotes Fenton's conclusions in his book.
After reading these, it's hard to believe that someone (perhaps many) in government and the US deep state did not at least know about the 9/11 plot. It's a small step to then posit that "it was an inside job", but unfortunately neither author comes up with that particular smoking gun.
Scott's work is the most intriguing, in that he shows that all US deep events (JFK murder, Watergate, 9/11, etc.) have common characteristics which strongly suggest government and/or deep state involvement.
And people like Tenet and Freeh, knowingly or unknowingly, then become beneficiaries of those deep events.
Ain't it a wonderful world?
By the way, I have read several of Scott's books, and I have discovered that he repeats himself over and over and over. And a large portion of his books (by page count) are lists of references. Fenton does something similar, in that he repeats himself over and over throughout his book. This may make it easier to follow his narrative, but I'm a bit miffed that these authors have padded their page counts in this manner.
Update: Apparently Louis Freeh has scored another jackpot:

Anyone who thinks that US government and business are not rotton to the core is a fool.
