Let's put this in perspective:
- People take oaths of office or enlistment, which they routinely ignore; and
- People take marriage vows, which they often break.
And you expect me to believe that a promise to "self monitor", which if broken has no negative legal consequences for the person who breaks it, is going to be rigorously followed?
Horseshit.
By the time they know whether or not this soldier had EVD, how many others might he have exposed?
I live roughly 55 miles from Fort Hood. Why doesn't the government need my permission to import a deadly disease with a high mortality rate into my neighborhood?
And just what did the "Ebola Czar" do for the money we paid him? Where the hell is he?
Update: In all fairness, here is an interview with our soon departing "Ebola Czar" in which he explains what he did:

Also in all fairness, here is a report detailing the fact that the treatment centers we built in Africa are mostly empty and unused:

It looks like we may have dodged a bullet and that Ebola has shot its wad and is fading out. Let's keep our fingers crossed.
