Abraham Lincoln Thought Of The Day

By the frame of the Government under which we live this same people have wisely given their public servants but little power for mischief, and have with equal wisdom provided for the return of that little to their own hands at very short intervals. While the people retain their virtue and vigilance no Administration by any extreme of wickedness or folly can very seriously injure the Government in the short space of four years.
from his first Inaugural Address

Note his caveat - "while the people retain their virtue and vigilance".

According to Rev. Franklin Graham, we have traded our virtue for an obsession with death:

And didn't Marshall McLuhan warn us about the problem with vigilance?

The price of eternal vigilance is indifference.

And boy, are we indifferent.

Even so, it's worth noting that for all his alleged wisdom and talent, it has taken Obama ad-Dajjal much longer than four years to wreck the country. Can you imagine the extra destruction he might have wrought had he not played so many rounds of golf and taken so many vacations?
