A few years ago I read a similar article about the Manson family. An informant had ratted them out, and the CA authorities could have arrested them prior to their infamous murders. But no action was taken until after the crimes.
Do governments actually protect such people so that they can carry out their acts of terror? It's a great way to scare the population into wanting more "police protection", isn't it?
