If I can resolve the errors, I will re-post it at a later date.
The core issue is whether Daniel's prophecy about the abomination of desolation is a dual prophecy; i.e., one fulfilled in the past and to be fulfilled again in the future. Many biblical scholars believe this to be the case, although the Bible itself does not appear to say this directly.
What Jesus said in Matthew 24 confirms that it was a future prophecy for Him, but He failed to address its fulfillment in His past; and what He said also did not resolve the anomaly created by its apparent partial fulfillment by the Romans in 70 AD and its dual fulfillment in our future. By uttering the following passage, He seemed to say that its fulfillment should have been in our past:
Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled.
Matthew 24:34 KJV
As most people understand the term "this generation", the generation of which He spoke is past. Does this confirm a dual prophecy, or does it mean that His prophecy was in error? I cannot believe that He was in error, so either we do not understand what He meant, or this will be a dual prophecy.
Perhaps the most accurate thing which can be said is this:
But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.
Matthew 24:36 KJV
So maybe we should just leave it at that.
