Yesterday, we all mourned the deaths of 13 people in the Washington Navy Yard, apparently at the hands of a man who was hearing voices and who was obsessed with violent video games:

Two days earlier, an unarmed man who was seeking help following a traffic accident was shot 10 times and killed by a police officer in North Carolina:

The presence of guns in our society, per se, is not the main problem. A greater problem is that TV, movies, Internet sites, and video games portray guns as a necessary, and even sexy, part of our culture. Ban the glorification of violence, and the violent use of firearms will decrease.
If you believe otherwise, show me your proof.
