What bothers me most about the NSA leaker fiasco

In no particular order, these things bother me the most:

  • Our hypocritical Congress authorized ALL of these spy programs. Obama ad-Dajjal may be telling the truth (a first!) when he says it's all "legal."
  • Internet companies OWN your information. They also are not doing anything illegal.
  • The spy programs have been public knowledge since William Binney blew the whistle last year. No one did anything in protest.
  • What's being protested is not really the programs themselves, but the nature and scope of the leaks. It's almost as if the only thing "wrong" is that the public now has an inkling of what's being done behind their backs.

My prediction?

  • More whistle blowers will go to jail or be put to death.
  • Congress will publicly wring their hands, but do nothing.
  • The ACLU lawsuit will reach the Supreme Court, who will do nothing.
  • The public will moan and groan, and then go back to sleep.

Pitiful!

By the way, join me in welcoming our 20-30 million soon-to-be new citizens from Mexico. One question: how are we gonna pay for all the freebies they're now entitled to? Print more money?

Further assessment? The NSA leaks and other recent scandals have been limited hangouts to divert attention from more important stuff, like the fact that the powers that be are wrecking this country lock, stock, and barrel.
