Was TWA 800 shot down after all?

Despite hundreds of eyewitnesses who saw TWA 800 being shot down (with a missile?), the NTSB decided that the 1996 tragedy was an accident.

Now a group including former investigators has petitioned our government to reopen the investigation. Why? Because there is evidence that an external explosion brought down the plane:

Not mentioned in the articles about this new development is the fact that all the parts of the plane which were so laboriously collected from the sea floor and reconstructed have been sold off to scrap recyclers and destroyed.

Funny how (just like the FBI) the NTSB always seems to make problems go away.
