No doubt many of these mines produce materials necessary to our modern economy, and some yield great wealth to their owners and shareholders; BUT ... some, perhaps all, also produce tailings and other waste and byproducts which may NEVER be fully cleaned up.
If you still think humanity is not destroying our planet and making it uninhabitable, think again.
And if you think we'll all escape to Mars, good luck with that idea.
