As we start a new year, it behooves us to ask whether it will be different from the one which just ended. Here are some factors which should influence our decision:
1. The human population still greatly exceeds the carrying capacity of our planet. Are we doing anything to turn that around?
2. A small group of persons still owns just about everything. Will it be in their best interests to help make things better for the rest of us?
3. Money printing and deficit spending are rapidly eroding the purchasing power of our currency. Is modern monetary theory going to save us from death of the dollar?
4. The US is still a foreign policy and military policy bully. How much longer can we thrive without friends?
5. Our government, the MSM, and social media continue to choke freedom of speech and the press. Are the rich and powerful going to dictate what we think, say, and do?
6. The vaccine paradigm is extinguishing all other pathways to improved human health. Is that really a good strategy?
7. China's OBOR initiative appears to offer a viable alternative to the US hegemonic system. Should we continue to be their enemy, or should we learn how to cooperate with them and their allies?
We all want something better than what happened in 2020. I suggest we start by tackling the above issues as soon as possible.
Best wishes to all.
