You also may be aware that US naval shipyards are overwhelmed, behind schedule, and often produce defective ships. Couple those problems with the above data, and you'll get a feeling for the mess we're in.
Our aircraft carrier force probably still gives us an advantage, but how long will US carriers last in a shooting war? We haven't gone up against a truly capable foe since WWII.
What interests me the most is that Congress and the powers that be resisted almost every measure Trump attempted to employ against the Chinese. If they truly believe China is our enemy, why would they do that?
Do they believe they can saber-rattle China into submission? If they do, they're even dumber than I thought.
