In a former life I reviewed air pollution permits for the Texas environmental agency. At one point I conducted an informal survey of "green/clean/renewable energy" projects which had applied for such permits. Most of them never got built, and I don't think ANY of them ever were profitable.
My advice? Make sure any future "green" projects are actually going to work BEFORE tearing down the existing facilities they are intended to replace. Otherwise we may wind up with power shortages on a scale we've never seen before.
