Bugs Are Dying

According the this report, insects are dying at an alarming rate:

Apparently the cause is the human way of growing food and the heavy use of pesticides.

If we halted pesticide use completely, how much longer (years?) would the residues continue to be dangerous? And how many humans would die from starvation?

I think we have backed ourselves into a corner.
