The calamitous redefinition of "nuts"

Somehow ... members of Congress who want to get the deficit under control are "nuts".

And somehow ... members of Congress who want to keep spending borrowed money, to in fact accelerate the rate of spending, and to print more fiat money to keep the economy running are "wise".

Those who can make you believe absurdities can make you commit atrocities.
