The latest US crime drama recreates what is alleged to be the assassination of Gianni Versace. You can read about it here:

I think it's interesting they call it an "assassination", but I believe they got the story line all wrong. Why? It has to do with a little known fact about Andrew Cunanan, the man who allegedly killed Lee Miglin and Gianni Versace.
With the help of the FBI, the MSM, and now Hollywood, America was led to believe that Andy went on a nation-wide killing spree, evaded capture during an intense manhunt, and finally shot himself in Miami. And we all bought it.
Only problem is that a credible eyewitness says that Andy was living in that houseboat in Miami the whole time he was supposedly out and about killing all those people.
In my opinion, Gianni was assassinated all right, but not by Andrew Cunanan. His murder and the murder of Lee Miglin were mob hits. I have no idea which mob(s) or the reasons for their deaths, but when the entire "establishment" gets together to cover something up, it usually points in the same direction.
