The Director of the NSA says he has read the US Constitution. Really? Where does it say he can spy on us?
US Constitution 4th Amendment:
The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.
As far as I am concerned, our "effects" include everything we do online. The government thinks they can spy on our online effects because:
- The lengthy, onerous "rules" imposed by Internet service providers on all of us give them ownership of our online effects, and
- If a "foreigner" is included in the communication(s), Uncle Sam thinks that he can spy on the foreigner's portion of the communication.
As far as I am concerned, spying on a jointly owned effect is a violation of OUR rights. Uncle Sam, please stop doing this.
Also as far as I am concerned, corporations which require us to sign contracts in which we must give up our Constitutionally guaranteed rights for the "privilege" of doing business with them can go to hell. Unfortunately, most Americans are addicted to the tools of their own oppression and are not about to give them up.
The Bible says the following:
Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.
-Revelation 18:4 KJV
I know that most people really don't give a damn what the Bible says, but this is good advice. The system in which we live will NOT be modified for our benefit by those who control it. And those of us who stay within its grasp will continue to be spied on, taken advantage of, robbed, and falsely imprisoned by that system.
The only way to thwart the national security state is to come out of it. The real question "is where can we go?"
