This justice has been dissing one of our politicians. Here's an example:
It's a political cliche at this point to joke about moving to another country if a certain presidential candidate doesn't win. Gobs of Americans were headed to Canada if George W. Bush was reelected in 2004. A similar contingent threatened to flood across our northern border when Barack Obama was elected and reelected.
Generally, though, you don't hear a Supreme Court justice talking like this. In fact, you generally don't hear a Supreme Court justice talking at all - much less about the big political issues of the day.
Most justices aren't Ruth Bader Ginsburg, though. And in a new New York Times interview, Ginsburg doesn't hold a thing back when it comes to the 2016 election.
“I can’t imagine what this place would be - I can’t imagine what the country would be - with Donald Trump as our president,” Ginsburg told the Times' Adam Liptak. “For the country, it could be four years. For the court, it could be - I don’t even want to contemplate that.”

Justice Ginsburg is on record stating that the US Constitution (in so many words) is an outdated piece of crap. Here's what she said:
Just last week, for example, Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg told an Egyptian TV station that she would not recommend the U.S. Constitution as model for Egypt’s new government.
The problem, you see, is that the U.S. Constitution is “a rather old constitution.” Ginsburg suggested that Egyptians should look instead to the Constitution of South Africa or perhaps the European Convention on Human Rights. All these are “much more recent than the U.S. Constitution.”

Dear Ruth: You took an oath to preserve, protect, and defend that document, and it does not seem to me that you take that oath seriously.
What is it that you don't even want to contemplate about Trump - that he would take HIS oath seriously and enforce our laws, or that he might appoint justices who (unlike you) would actually respect the US Constitution?
I think you are an ass.
Why would we Canadians welcome so many disaffected US citizens? We are in the process of assimilating 25000 Syrian refugees. Are we to become a dumping ground for the worlds disgruntled? Why do US citizens assume that they will be granted Landed Immigrant 'status'? US arrogance I suspect.
ReplyDeleteGood point. Canada should NOT welcome them or even let them in. They tend to be the least productive members of society and the most disgruntled. If it were up to me, I'd send them to Antarctica.
