Sooner or later, our wealth will be taxed directly

The simple way out: repeal the 16th Amendment to the US Constitution. Then direct taxes would have to be equal, just as the Founders planned [see Article I, Section 9, Part 4:  No Capitation, or other direct, Tax shall be laid, unless in Proportion to the Census or Enumeration herein before directed to be taken.] Doing so would quash the ObamaDon'tCare tax too.

However, the bastards at the top would find a way around that somehow; so we're screwed.

I will bet you a coke and nuts that Hillary Rodham will push through this wealth tax if and when she gets elected, which gives us yet another reason not to vote for her.
