There has been a lot of buzz lately about monkey pox and its relative smallpox. Somehow the monkey pox allegedly has started spreading globally like wildfire.

From what is described in the article, I'm not surprised.
On ship, all you have is a bunk (which you might have to share) and a small locker (which may not actually lock). You have regular meals, but not necessary water for bathing or laundry. It's tolerable, but only for short periods.
To throw poorly paid, lower ranking enlisted men out to find lodging on the local economy, especially in high rent areas, is ridiculous. If this is how we treat sailors and their families, I can understand why they're deserting.
We've barely got enough money to protect our borders, let alone police the world. Our foolish military, foreign, and financial policies are going to bankrupt us. How many sailors will desert when they're no longer paid?

In my view almost nothing should be "fast tracked". We can see such crises coming a mile away, especially since in the case of Ukraine we started this war back in 2014. That's right - this is a war concocted by "Joe Biden", Victoria Nuland, and a long cast of psychopaths.
If we really want to spend $40 billion on this initiative, I suggest we spend at least some of it on identifying and rooting out the war mongers in the US and offering them free passage to somewhere else.

This suggests to me the real US plan is to balkanize the Russian Federation and steal the resources they have which we don't. Same goes for Africa, where our military incursions and drone strikes have been on the rise for quite some time.

It's worth noting that the United States has been lusting to use nuclear weapons again ever since the glory days of WWII. They'll make it seem like this is all Russia's fault, but for the past several decades I've seen repeated calls for a new generation of micro, mini, and tiny nukes for the US arsenal.
