This essay by Robert Charles suggests we have no choice but to defend Israel, to the death if necessary:
He makes many good points, but there is one thing he never really addresses - Israeli culpability for what has been, is, and soon will be going on in the Middle East. This is rather strange, since no one would be on the current trajectory if we had not helped create Israel, given them carte blanche and a blank check to do whatever they want, and granted them impunity for acts much of the world considers to be war crimes.
Should we double down on these bad decisions, or just cut them off? What do you think?
And We the People really should be the ones who decide, because in the long run we always wind up paying the bill for this on-going catastrophe:
... and support for them and their agenda has changed us from one of the world's most respected countries into one of the most hated.
