Had the Declaration of Independence been written today, it would have rendered its signers extremists or terrorists, resulting in them being placed on a government watch list, targeted for surveillance of their activities and correspondence, and potentially arrested, held indefinitely, stripped of their rights and labeled enemy combatants.

This is all well and good, but we now seem incapable of doing anything about it.

I believe we suffer from a paralysis which was intentionally inflicted by the powers that be, for the purpose of destroying reinventing our nation. They control the economy, the language, and the narrative.

And at the core of their narrative is the message that the USA is evil and must be dismantled, and reconstructed in a manner chosen by them.

There is no longer any "democracy" here; just mob rule guided by the ultra rich, with the bewildered Kens and Karens seemingly powerless to do anything except brandish their guns in a futile attempt to ward off boogeymen, ghosts and goblins:
