Here's another little known fact regarding Muhammad Ali:
The distraction of the fight [his first with Joe Frazier] helped the burglars, who called themselves the Citizens Committee to Investigate the FBI, walk away with more than 1,000 documents, including one that revealed the FBI’s secret COINTELPRO operations. These operations involved a panoply of dirty tricks that ranged from planting disinformation about antiwar activists, to planning the murder of a member of the Black Panthers, and sending innocent people to prison on the basis of false testimony by agents and informers.

Yes, Ali only unwittingly helped these burglars, but his courageous resistance to the Vietnam War puts him in the same league with Assange, Manning, and Snowden.
It is interesting that nearly everyone who has performed such a "public service" has been persecuted throughout their lives by the US government. This state of affairs clearly illustrates the gulf between We The People and the national security state which falsely claims to represent us.
