Community without coercion?

How do you get community without coercion? Liked-minded people find each other, and then ignore everyone else. The communities so formed interact like bumper cars; if they collide, they bounce away from each other. Those who hog the wealth will survive, those who don't will wither.

A subtle form of sociocide, from the bottom up.

And frankly this situation becomes an even stronger argument for coercion, since people who don't think like you cannot possibly be people and need to be controlled.
