Can one person really change the world ???

Such is the thrust of this message from Malala Yousafzai, the Pakistani girl shot by the Taliban for advocating education for girls:

"Let us pick up our books and pens. They are our most powerful weapons. One child, one teacher, one pen and one book can change the world. Education is the only solution," she said.

Before you get all excited about this, keep in mind that one person can only change the world if the world is receptive to that change. This girl has been chosen for notoriety because the change she espouses is what the powers that be want.

If those powers (whether they be the ruling class or the unruly mob) don't want your idea, it's going nowhere. For a good example of this principle, please read the following:

Arthur Silber's ideas should be changing the world, but they are not and will not. Malala's probably will change the world, but it will be chiefly because they serve the sociocidal agenda currently being rammed down our throats by the global ruling class. If they didn't, you'd never get to hear them.
