My guess would be probably because they ALL want him gone. And not just gone, but humiliated and disgraced, too.
By the way, have you noticed that the alleged sovereignty of the Several States only comes up in the context of prosecuting people multiple times for essentially the same alleged crimes? In my view, it's a BS argument.
