Grid Stability

Here is a report regarding the management of PJM Interconnection, the non-profit which maintains the electric grid for Pennsylvania and a dozen other states (including where I live in Ohio):

Here are some pertinent facts and assertions not mentioned in the report. I present them as a former contract employee of Pennsylvania Power and Light and a 25+ year veteran of the military and commercial nuclear energy programs:

• Pennsylvania has been able to keep its grid in operation in part because electricity use by manufacturing and commerce in the state decreased as residential use went up over the past decades.
• As gasoline and diesel powered vehicles get replaced with EVs, this will put additional strain on the grid. If fossil fueled power plants are taken offline at the same time, there simply won't be enough electricity to go around. I believe this claim from the second post is key to understanding what's in store for us if we continue down the road advocated by Governor Shapiro:

1. Either a lot fewer of us will be driving our own cars, or

2. There will be a lot fewer of us.

(Or perhaps both)

The green crazies have an agenda which if accurately and completely spelled out would be supported by very few of us. In simple terms, it takes us back to the Stone Age - literally - before the discovery of fire.

In the meantime, you can expect a decrease in grid stability and a vast increase in the amount of money wasted on so-called alternative sources of energy.

The last time I checked, none of them currently hold any elected office or other position of authority. Why then should THEY be telling us how to live? I'll consider listening to them when THEY start eating bugs and stop flying around in private jets.
