Disaster In Ohio

The train derailment in Palestine, OH and subsequent bungled response is likely to contaminate the entire Ohio River basin:

Such large industrial/nuclear accidents are wreaking havoc on our planet:

• Chernobyl dumped radionuclides over Europe
• Fukushima produced a huge inventory of radioactive material which all will wind up in the Pacific Ocean
• An acid leak at a nuke plant in upstate New York eroded condenser tubes, and the resulting metal toxins were dumped into the lake
• The Deepwater Horizon oil spill released a huge amount of petroleum into the Gulf of Mexico

In addition, long-term activities associated with mining, manufacturing, and waste disposal have been contaminating our air, water, and soil for generations.

Bottom line - humans are making this planet uninhabitable, at least for ourselves, most vertebrates, and quite a few other organisms.

Much is said about the "value" of human life, but if we're honest about our planetary impact, it's mostly negative. Highly negative.

Green washing just won't cut it. We MUST reduce our numbers, stop raping Mother Earth, and end ALL warfare activities. And EVERYONE in government and corporations who has been promoting and profiting from such activities MUST be forced from their positions of power and authority.

Our very lives depend on it.
