According to this report, the Pentagon wants to stop selling guns to US troops:

Is this really to keep them from committing suicide, or to make certain they cannot commit mutiny or insurrection? Impossible to tell for certain.
Wouldn't it be better to address the reasons they kill themselves in such high numbers?
[That would be a novel idea - addressing the causes instead of just the symptoms.]
