Pay special attention to the list of quotes on the subject from famous people (starting with Stephen Hawking, whose first name is mispelled in the essay). Chances are their opinions mean more to TPTB than yours or mine.
And don't believe anyone who tells you TPTB want all of us to live longer, by curing cancer for example. That's ridiculous. They want us dead, and the sooner the better.
