Yuval Noah Harari, a professor at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, said the amalgamation of man and machine will be the ‘biggest evolution in biology’ since the emergence of life four billion years ago.

Note well he predicts that only wealthy people will be able to do such a thing.
It is interesting that an Israeli would predict this development, for at least two reasons:
- In Jewish folklore, a golem (/ˈɡoʊləm/ goh-ləm; Hebrew: גולם) is an animated anthropomorphic being, magically created entirely from inanimate matter. Cyborgs bypass the problems presented by golem by combining a human soul with the inanimate structure of a traditional golem.
- In the Bible, Adam and Eve were banished from the Garden of Eden for the express purpose of preventing them from becoming immortal. Becoming cyborgs puts humans in opposition to G-d in this regard:
And the Lord G-d said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever:
Therefore the Lord G-d sent him forth from the garden of Eden, to till the ground from whence he was taken.
So he drove out the man; and he placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubims, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life.
Genesis 3:22-24 KJV
I believe that Professor Harari's vision of the future will come to fruition. I hope I don't get to see it, because humans who believe they are gods are among the scariest things I can imagine.
The rich already think they can loot, rape, and kill the rest of us with impunity. Imagine how much worse they will act when they actually turn into demigods.
