Jim Wright v. Hillary Rodham

Do you remember what happened to Speaker of the House Jim Wright? He was accused of using bulk purchases of his book(s) as a means of bypassing campaign finance limits. And he eventually had to resign from office as a result.

Well, what is Hillary Rodham (a.k.a. Clinton) now doing? Apparently she's not running for office, so there are no related limits on her income / fund raising / constant feeding at the pig trough. But it now appears that her latest book is a flop, so wasn't the big cash advance she got for it the equivalent of Jim Wright's faux pas?

Our totally broken and corrupt political system is throwing huge amounts of money at her and giving her countless hours of free publicity that no rival will ever be able to surmount. If this is not a perverse distortion of the electoral process, then what is?

And what is she promising in return for all that money?
