This UN report suggests that the human population will level off at about 11.2 billion:
But if you read the report carefully, you will note that it is based on fertility rates and does not discuss any other factors.
This second report states that the existing human population of 7.3 billion is exceeding our planet's resource production rate by 60%:
At existing consumption rates, a population of 11.2 billion will exceed the resource production rate by 145%. Clearly we will not reach 11 billion, and whatever level we do achieve will have catastrophic consequences for the future of all life on earth.
This is an even stronger motivation for our corporate overlords to cull the human herd and replace us with robots. We're certainly not going to do it voluntarily.
