Refugees Are Opportunities ???

Does this sound familiar?

... the influx also provides opportunities for the German economy. Despite the official unemployment figure of almost 2.8 million, the business community urgently needs workers. And every refugee or migrant who finds work becomes less of a drain on the public coffers. The German economy is dependent on immigration, both from Europe as well as people entering the country due to asylum rights in Germany. With the German population shrinking, businesses are unable to fill many jobs, and specialized workers are increasingly rare. This trend will only be exacerbated in the coming years. It's a development that jeopardizes the country's future prosperity.

Both Germany and the US have large (and growing) unemployed populations, but both allegedly need to bring in more immigrants to fill their empty jobs.

This suggests that neither economy is able to compete on the world market while paying a living wage to their native-born citizens. They can only make ends meet by slashing wages and giving jobs to desperate refugees.

This also suggests that "national" economies exist for the benefit of corporations and not for the benefit of real people. The reality of this suggestion will become more apparent as nation states complete their transformation into market states.

I may sound like a broken record on this issue, but I will continue to do so until people wake up to it.
