Days of deceit

There is a good discussion of the truth behind Japan's December 7, 1941 attack on Pearl Harbor @

http://scotthorton.org/2012/12/07/120712-robert-stinnett/

FDR had provoked the attack, the US Navy had indeed broken the Japanese naval encryption codes and could read (and did read) their messages, the US knew that the Japanese fleet was on the way and even tracked its progress along the voyage; in short, all the important aspects of the "surprise attack" myth are complete bullshit.

Knowing what America really is, I am not surprised by these revelations. What continues to amaze me, however, is America's ability to continue to convincingly lie to herself and others EVEN WHEN THE TRUTH IS REVEALED. It is as if "the truth" is what we say it is and is not subject to verification by fact. Naysayers and deniers of America's myths are TRAITORS to the "goodness" of America.

The whole thing reminds me of a passage in the New Testament of the Bible:

And now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed in his time.
For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way.
And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:
Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,
And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:
That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.
(2 Thessalonians 2:6-12 KJV)

That's a very good description of America: those who won't believe the truth but take pleasure in unrighteousness. And for that, God promotes our slide into damnation by sending us strong delusion to make it even harder for us to see and accept the truth.

Pearl Harbor, the Gulf of Tonkin, 9/11 - these are all lies which we have accepted as truths in spite of the known facts. Only "strong delusion" even comes close to explaining what is going on.
