The End Of The Polar Bear ???

According to this report, we may soon only be able to see polar bears in pictures:

Maybe this is a dumb question, but how many of you have seen a polar bear up close and personal (other than in a zoo)?

One of the theories combining the concept of evolution with the evidence in the fossil record is called "punctuated equilibrium":

This theory suggests that environmental change is the stimulus for evolution, and that great extinctions perhaps accompany such change.

Slowing Earth's temperature rise may keep humans and polar bears alive for a few more decades, but eventually our attempts at stasis will fail and Mother Nature will have her way.

And moving to Mars will not help, since we'll just screw up that planet too.
