More New York Times Immigration Horseshit

The following insulting inanity can be found in today's online edition of The New York Times:

Lost in the screaming were the sound reasons that cities and localities shun the role of immigration enforcers. They are balancing public safety with a respect for civil rights and the Constitution.

I have to provide ID for everything - to buy or sell, to vote, to drive, to go to the gym or pool, to enter a courthouse, everything. It's almost like taking the mark of the beast.

Corporations and government agencies spy on everything I do everyday. Neither they nor the cities and localities in which we live have even a modicum of respect for the Constitution ... except when it suits them to do so.

Do you think I give a damn that some nutjobs in New York think that asking someone for ID and requiring them to show they have a lawful reason for being in our country somehow violates their civil rights? Or that it places any burden on the people whose job it is to check our IDs hundreds of times each and every day?

Since when is unlawful entry a civil right? And how does committing a crime entitle a person to any civil rights?

This country is full of stupid people.
