As a resident of Texas, I'm not very happy about what is happening.
I will have to admit, though, that this is not over ... not by a long shot. Globally there will be many more refugees of all sorts, and too few compassionate people to help them.
In reality the best way to help them is to stop the neoliberal agenda for privatization of the world's resources, abolish the IMF and the entire Bretton Woods financial structure, encourage the resurgence of national sovereignty and self-sufficiency, and stop the downward march to hell known as the "market state".
In short, we must remove the influence of Obama ad-Dajjal and his minions, the bankgangsters, corporations, and their accomplices in the one percent. If we don't, we'll all soon be serfs and refugees no matter where we live.
