From my perspective, carbon regulation has more to do with the continuing destruction of the United States than it has to do with being a remedy for climate disruption. Why do I say this?
As World War II came to a close, Secretary of the Treasury Henry Morgenthau, Jr. proposed a multi-step plan for the destruction of Germany's war making capability:

I have analyzed Morgenthau's plan and his book Germany Is Our Problem, and I have discovered that his plan had the following elements (listed in alphabetical order and restated in modern terms):
- Abolish the old legal basis / laws
- Control research laboratories
- Convert education into "peace school"
- Create a powerful, ruthless World Police Force
- Decentralize, transfer power to local governments
- De-industrialize the nation, remove equipment, close mines
- Demilitarize and demobilize the nation
- Destroy (reinvent) existing institutions
- Disarm the military
- Disarm the people
- Dispose of the Navy and merchant fleets
- Enforce a policy of "zero tolerance" towards male violence
- Establish a sense of defeat and guilt
- Exact reparations
- Make us beg for peace
- Outlaw flags, parades, uniforms, etc.
- Prepare us for globalism
- Punish war criminals
- Regulate all sources of information
- Reinvent the family
- Remove existing office holders
- Reorganize the judiciary
- Show no compassion during the process
- Station our (too compassionate) troops elsewhere
Most if not all of these elements are being accomplished right here in the USA. For example, forcing the reduction of carbon emissions is the equivalent of partial fulfillment of element "de-industrialize the nation, remove equipment, close mines". America's heavy industry and the electric resources necessary to operate them have been almost completely shut down.
We were once the "Arsenal of Democracy", but we are in the process of being disarmed and pacified. By the time the process is complete, we shall be docile sheep forever indebted to the bankgangsters and corporations that Dubya, Obama ad-Dajjal, and eventually Hillary Rodham will have assisted in the destruction of our nation.
Think about that the next time you go through the pointless exercise of "voting".
