Why All The Hatred ???

An Ohio lawmaker made some controversial claims about the recent shooting in Dayton:

Is she right? I don't know, but consider this:

(1) A majority of young people think their lives are "meaningless". Why is that?

(2) The FBI is investigating whether "violent ideologies" played a role in the Dayton shooting. Isn't "American exceptionalism" a violent ideology in itself? After all, our chief (if not only) response to everything is to use coercion, starvation, and/or violence to bend people to our will (e.g., Iran, Iraq, Libya, Syria, etc.):

(3) Here's another example of our neighbors believing we should fight violence by using counter-violence:

I think this finding (of the study) is the most revealing:

"Most mass public shooters are suicidal, and their crises are often well known to others before the shooting occurs. The vast majority of mass shooters leak their plans ahead of time."

We have been surveilled ad nauseam since 9/11, but somehow the watchers seem incapable of finding and stopping the next shooter. Why is that?

Either fix this glaring deficiency, or admit the surveillance state has NOTHING to do with public safety ... and dismantle it.
