Many think the US is fighting in the Middle East because of oil, terrorism, or some other mundane concern. Here is Patrick Buchanan's latest contribution to such theories:

Although such things are valid concerns, the real reasons we are there can be found in the Bible. Americas Founders designed our nation as a machine to bring about the End Times. And that is what it will do, come Hell or High Water.
Read the Bible (especially the Book of Revelation), and you will find ample evidence suggesting that my assessment is correct. War in Syria, for example, brings us close to Megiddo - site of the Battle of Armageddon. And US support for moving Israel's capital to Jerusalem (if given) will pave the way for the arrival of the Antichrist.
Don't be misled by the atheists, pagans, witches and warlocks in America. "Official" America believes in what the Bible predicts. Stick around and you'll see what I mean.
