A Tale Of Two Revolutions

You may have noticed two of the great revolutions which are currently underway:
(1) the robot / artificial intelligence revolution, and
(2) the climate change revolution.

The robot / AI revolution has the potential to destroy all of humanity. We have been warned about this possibility by knowledgeable people such as Stephen Hawking and Elon Musk.

The climate change revolution has the potential to destroy much property and to displace a large part of humanity. It may also lead to widespread starvation and other human impacts.

The powers that be (TPTB) appear to be mobilizing to fight climate change, but no such effort is being made to fight the robot / AI revolution. Why the difference?

TPTB really don't care what happens to We The People. If robots take our jobs and/or start to kill all of us, I believe TPTB will be quite pleased. There are too many of us "infesting" this planet, and TPTB think they can control the robots so that THEY will not be rendered penniless or dead; such fates await only the great unwashed.

Climate change, on the other hand, affects property TPTB own and threatens THEIR lives and wealth. That's what they really care about.

From a certain perspective, TPTB are heavily involved in both these revolutions. The main reason the planet is heating up (according to them) is that the planet is infested with too many humans. If the robots kill us all (at least we "commoners"), TPTB will have killed one bird with two stones, so to speak. We'll be gone, the planet will stabilize, and they will own everything.

And when they finally perfect sex robots, they won't need We The People for anything ever again.
