Mr. Robot vs. Person Of Interest

I watched the "Mr. Robot" season one finale today, and it turned out the way I suspected it would.

Following a "fire sale" collapse, the downtrodden may think they have won something ... but in reality such an event will be a bonanza for the rich and powerful, since they have the means to recover.

Ownership of property and resources is what matters (not "wealth" or "debt"), and ownership is recorded via hard copy. It would be difficult if not impossible to erase all the traces of ownership, and this is what will give the rich the upper hand when such an event occurs. We The People own nothing (except maybe our souls).

It seems to me that both "Mr. Robot" and "Person of Interest" are portraying similar bleak futures in which those who control information are able to seize absolute power, while those of us who are reliant on the systems of information they control are now even more powerless than before the Information Age.

If this is our future, maybe we should just all lie down and let the robots crush us.

What is the alternative? Someone please tell me.
