Jailed For Her Faith ???

A clerk in Kentucky has been jailed for refusing to issue marriage licenses to same sex couples:

I don't think Jesus ever took a direct stand for or against same sex marriage. But He did say that every jot and tittle of the law would be fulfilled, and as I read the law it puts gay and lesbian sex in the category of "abomination".

And He also said this:

And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that endureth to the end shall be saved.
Matthew 10:22 KJV

If this clerk has faith in the Lord, she will not turn her back on Him.

And for me, this is a perfect example of what will happen when people are forced to take the mark of the beast - either they will give in to save themselves, or they will be cast into prison and/or put to death. And the average person will think that those who choose death are crazy.

Yes, Satan has great power over this world. But in the end he shall be defeated.

Update - Although I disagree with him on many things, Mike Huckabee seems to agree with me on this issue:

Second Update - Hillary says public officials should uphold the law:

Dear Hillary: You did not uphold the nation's security laws when you were SOS, did you?

As far as upholding the law goes, there are many examples of how this is not always the right thing to do. Here's two of them:

  • Germans were upholding the laws of their nation in the 1930s when they attacked Jews and other minorities; and
  • US soldiers were upholding the laws of their nation (as interpreted by the John Ashcroft DOJ) when they assisted in torture of prisoners at Abu Ghraib.
