The Definition Of Excessive Bail

I think most of us would agree that this person should not have destroyed a police vehicle in this manner:

On the other hand, imposing a $500,000 bail requirement on his imprisonment is, in my opinion, the very definition of "excessive bail".

US Constitution, 8th Amendment

Excessive bail shall not be required, nor excessive fines imposed, nor cruel and unusual punishments inflicted.

In her zeal to punish, America once again has ignored her own Constitution, which the judge who imposed this bail requirement is sworn to preserve, protect, and defend.

Update: Here is another example of excessive bail being imposed -

We have become a nation of angry people with a zeal to punish.

By the way, it has been suggested that some of the people killed in Waco were shot by the police. Check the slugs and tell us. If all were shot by police, then setting bail at $1 million per person is even more outrageous.
