Note that they all fall into one or more of the following categories:
- US allies
- US puppets
- Countries the US has invaded or otherwise destroyed
- Countries the US is getting ready to invade or otherwise destroy
Now ask yourself this: considering the importance of petrocurrency mercantilism to US hegemony, why would we EVER even THINK about going along with a plan to keep most of the remaining fossil fuels locked up underground?

Q: Does that make any sense at all?
A: Only if the US (or its successor power structure) has some alternative plan for how it will run the world and maintain that hegemony.
Q: And just what might THAT be?
A: Here are some possibilities:
(1) "Bank" all that stored carbon in the form of a huge number of environmental "credits" and then monopolize the trade in such credits; and/or
(2) Use the "guaranteed profits" system which soon will be created by TPP and TTIP as an accounts receivable credit system to generate huge amounts of new capital (which by the way will be controlled by corporations but guaranteed by what is left of the nation states).
