Many are now asking whether Artificial Intelligence (AI) will become God. The answers I've seen to this question appear to ignore what the Bible has to say about this subject.
Check out these verses from Chapter 3 of Genesis (KJV):
22 And the Lord God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever:
23 Therefore the Lord God sent him forth from the garden of Eden, to till the ground from whence he was taken.
These words suggest there are two primary characteristics of deity:
- possessing the knowledge of good and evil, and
- being immortal.
Since AI is capable of having both, by this definition it will become God (if that is what He meant by "one of us").
