What Is Wrong With Chinese Expansionism ???

According to this report, Bangladesh won't accept a Chinese offer to build a deep water port in Sonadia:

Under President Obama’s Asia ‘pivot’ policy, the US Navy plans to relocate about 60 percent of its naval assets to the region. This would allow the United States to use the Bay of Bengal as a second theater in containing Chinese expansion beyond Myanmar. To this end, access to the Chittagong port and the Bay of Bengal would provide an excellent strategic fit for the US Navy.

Historically, whenever the US does something like this it is not to help the nations of the region but to ensure that US interests prevail. How does this help India or Bangladesh?

Can anyone name a negative impact of Chinese expansion in the region? And why is a Chinese presence in the so-called Bay of Bengal a detriment to India, which after all is China's partner as one of the BRICS nations?

This is just more US bellyaching over something which is none of our business.
