Many of you will poo poo such "unscientific" beliefs. But look at it from their viewpoint - the very people who support the science behind the telescope are those who stole their islands and ultimately will destroy their culture. The telescope will do little or nothing of tangible value for native Hawaiians, so why should they support it?
