Toward A Recycle Economy

According to this report, Europe cannot afford a new green deal, one leading to a "circular economy":

Policymakers want to implement a circular economy, one that emphasizes the sustainability factor in how the Continent produces goods. Its objective is to consume fewer materials and ensure that there is more concentration on reusing and recycling.

That's one of the things the 1979 RCRA act was supposed to encourage in the US. Instead it enriched a few law firms and helped offshore our economy to China and elsewhere.

We have what I would call an "Enron economy". Materials are stolen or purchased at the lowest possible prices, turned into trinkets in the cheapest labor markets or by robots, shipped to us in non-reusable containers, and ultimately dumped into landfills. Nothing is repaired, reused, or recycled.

The ONLY way a circular economy would work here is to do it all domestically. But take note that both Congress and ALL "our" corporations appear to be dead set against such a thing. So the destruction of our planet will continue, ultimately leading the rich (the only group to actually benefit from the process) to leave the planet:
